Kapu Solutions, an Service-Disabled Veteran and Native Hawaiian owned small business (8A Status Pending), is based on a heritage of protection. Inspired by the Hawaiian word “Kapu,” which denotes laws that once governed and now safeguard, our founders leverage over three decades of US Military expertise to deliver efficient security solutions. We complete the circle between cutting-edge theory and operational application, adding value through such services as Protected Distribution Systems (PDS), data obfuscation for distance communications, and extremely sophisticated cybersecurity to guard against even the next generation of quantum attacks.

Kalei Hoopai
CEO
Kalei is a 31-year veteran of the Hawaii Air National Guard and parttime pilot for Hawaiian Airlines. He has successfully led three local businesses complemented by extensive experience in long range logistics, avionics, and the aviation industry.
Dave Libert
COO
Dave is a 30-year veteran of the US Army (retired). He is an information security and communications professional with 20+ years’ experience leading soldiers in the installation, operation and maintenance of complex IT systems in austere environments throughout the world. An accomplished IT Project Manager with an exceptional ability to develop and implement strategies that support both operational and fiscal objectives.
Jon Narvaes
CTO
Jon is a 30-year veteran of the US Army (retired). His roles and responsibilities include serving as the cybersecurity program manager for Hawaiian Electric, the CIO for four DoD organizations, and various other roles in the Information Technology field. His accomplishments include the design, engineering, and implementation of 9 Presidential modernization initiatives, author and lead for two DoD Hacking for Defense (HFD) initiatives, and successful manager of a $300M procurement portfolio.
James Kellhofer
Technical Solutions Architect
James has 20-years of experience in design, implementation, configuration, monitoring, optimization, securing, and troubleshooting of Enterprise information technology. He also has extensive Pacific-Asia familiarity having spent most of his life overseas supporting the Department of Defense.
